Crack the Code

Here’s a list of codes for the amenities on the list:

BW

Beach wheelchair (for rent or loan). Manual beach wheelchairs are wheelchairs ideal for handling the varied terrain of the sand. Usually, they have large wheels and require the wheelchair user to be pushed by another person. Motorized beach wheelchairs have a similar design to manual beach wheelchairs, but they provide the wheelchair user total independence on the sand with hand controls that are similar to those found on a motorized wheelchair.

MM

Mobi-Mat or other synthetic sand mat. Mobi-mats are non-slip mats that link together to form a pathway across the sand, leading to the shoreline. They offer a more stable walking surface for visitors and are wheelchair accessible.

WB

Wooden boardwalk with sand access. These span the dunes nearest to the beach access.

AR

Accessible restrooms.

Many of Sarasota's beaches are accessible, like this one in beautiful Siesta Key.
