This family friendly stretch of sand is an award-winning ‘Blue Wave Beach,’ noted for its cleanliness. And it has all the right neighbors: Dania Beach Marina borders the east side of Ocean Park’s parking lot, and Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park marks the Park’s northern tip. Palm trees, tiki huts against the ocean, and the pier give it a tropical ambience.
The beach is narrow, with latte colored sand dotted with shells. The Atlantic changes color with its moods, ranging from an emerald hue to the darkest navy.
Expect some waves, which will vary according to winds, tides, and offshore systems.
On or near the beach
At Dania Beach you can relax under the shade of a tiki hut, play in the waves, hunt for seashells, or surf.
Anglers will appreciate the Dania Beach Fishing Pier, lighted for night fishing and reaching 974 feet over the surf, promising a chance to cast for serious sportfish like tarpon and snook. But even if you don’t fish, you should explore the Pier: you might be rewarded with a glimpse of schools of fish, or a manta ray spreading its wings just beneath the surface.

Dania Beach Ocean Park offers two beach wheelchairs: talk to a beach ranger or lifeguard to arrange use. Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, just to Ocean Park’s north, offers accessible boardwalks to the beach and beach wheelchairs that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities
The Fishing Pier, open from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, offers snacks, drinks, tackle and bait, as well as showers and restrooms. Quarterdeck Dania Beach Pier serves food and drinks.
