SARASOTA MEDIEVAL FAIR – At the 21st edition of the Sarasota Medieval Fair you can step back in time and watch full-contact jousting, human combat chess matches and other fantastic shows on 14 stages. Enjoy rides and music, play games and shop for the holidays in the artisan marketplace with more than 140 shops. Each festival weekend has a unique theme and a full line-up of acts.

STONE CRAB FESTIVAL – Here’s what Stone Crab Music Fest, from the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, is all about: Stone Crab, of course; live Music; island businesses and crafters; other local seafood and food vendors; adult beverages.

SAVOR ST. PETE FOOD + WINE FESTIVAL – This hip, two-day, adults-only culinary experience features gourmet bites, wine, craft beer, and premium spirits, all capturing the flavor of the region. Sample creative dishes prepared by some of the Tampa Bay area’s top chefs and restaurants, showcasing their favorite tapas, seafood, vegan, charcuterie and dessert recipes. Entry for both VIP and general admission guests includes a Savor festival wine glass, wine glass lanyard and limited-edition festival tote bag, and of course, the gorgeous views along downtown’s waterside Vinoy Park.

SUNCOAST JAZZ FESTIVAL – Celebrating its 35th year, the Suncoast Jazz Festival mixes beach vibes with cool jazz, offering four days of some of Florida’s top musicians as well as world-renowned artists. Among some of this year’s headliners are Tuba Skinny, Wycliffe Gordon, Diego Figueiredo, Jason Marsalis and Ken Peplowski. Enjoy the award-winning Clearwater Beach atmosphere or check out the indoor Friday night swing dance party. This popular event draws music lovers from all over the country.

OLD TYME FARM DAYS — You won’t need a time machine to drop your family into the 19th century during this Thanksgiving weekend celebration of American rural life that includes exhibitions on syrup making and cane grinding (or extracting juice from sugar cane). Kids will get to explore their creative side at the Suwannee Spirit Kid’s Music Camp Expo where they’ll be able to get hands-on, free lessons for guitar, fiddle, banjo, harmonica, ukulele, drums and vocals. Musical instruments are provided for free, allowing kids to discover a new love! Also includes sled pulls, an “old’ tractor and engine show, Thanksgiving Dinner,  swap meet, arts and crafts vendors and more.

BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL — 14 musical acts in three days round out the lineup for one of the state’s can’t-miss tributes to Bluegrass. Headliners include festival favorites Rhonda Vincent and the Rage (Saturday’s 90-minute show), The Malpass Brothers (Friday) and The Isaacs (Thursday). Country music legend  Lee Greenwood will play a special pre-fest concert with Lyndia Burris opening for him on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

FLORIDA SEAFOOD FESTIVAL — The long-limbed oaks along the Apalachicola River make Battery Park a gorgeous venue for thousands of visitors seeking fresh seafood paired with country music. Christian artist Riley Clemmons (Broken Prayers and Better for It) and country artist Mark Wills (Wish You Were Here and Permanently, Loving Every Minute) will headline the annual festival’s live music showcase. Also features an oyster eating contest, oyster shucking contest, blue crab races, a blessing of the fleet, Tonging for Treasure and the 5K Redfish Run.

SUPER GIRL SURF FESTIVAL — Catch some of the top female surfers of the World Surf League for three days of competition during the Super Girl Surf Pro, the only qualifying event in the states for the World Championship Tour! But the women’s surf competition is not the only marquee event at the fest. Guests will get to enjoy two days of live entertainment featuring The Band Perry, Plain White T’s, HIRIE and Julia Cole. The fest, which celebrates female empowerment through social, athletic, cultural and business opportunities, will showcase a musical lineup on Saturday that only includes acts led by women. The surf contest will take place at the Jacksonville Beach Pier, with the Festival Village located at the Sea Walk Pavilion. The Festival Village will feature live music, family-friendly activities, an all-female DJ competition, women’s beach soccer, volleyball and lacrosse tournaments, a lifeguard competition, female art expo and celebrity speakers. All events are free!

WHISKEY, WINE & WILDLIFE — Vilano Beach’s annual celebration salutes the three “Ws” in its name — wine, whiskey and wildlife. Let’s discuss each!

  • Whiskey and Wine: Saturday’s W3 main event includes culinary samples from northeast Florida’s best chefs, hundreds of wine, spirit and beer tastings plus live music and educational demos by the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park. Tasting guests are encouraged to embrace their “wild side” by donning their favorite animal and reptile print clothing or accessories for a “Best Dressed Wildlife Contest”.
  • Wildlife: Speaking of the Alligator Farm (see above), one this year’s marquee events includes a private, behind-the-scenes tour at the zoological park. Guests will receive VIP access to meet Maximo, a 1,250-pound saltwater crocodile, and to tour the Rookery, which is home to Florida native birds like herons, egrets, spoonbills and wood storks. Also includes a wine and cheese reception.

Other festival highlights include the Vilano AIA Soiree and Sunday’s Jazz Brunch.

LUMINOSA: A FESTIVAL OF LIGHT – You’ll see some 100 or so stunning light sculptures crafted by 150 skilled artisans. More than 150 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk-light fabric, 56,000 LED bulbs and 700,000 feet of light strips combine to make this dazzling light festival a joy for people of all ages. There are several themed areas, including a candy-themed playground for the young ’uns.
