Treasure Island
Treasure Island, just north of St. Pete Beach on Florida’s Gulf Coast, is as fun as the name implies, with miles of white-sand beaches, glistening turquoise waters, and endless things to do for kids and adults alike.
Rent a paddleboard or kayak and explore the water, do some fishing, fly a kite on the extra-wide beach, try parasailing, and walk, skateboard, or bike the Treasure Island Beach Trail.
Wheelchair users can enter the beach using the ADA-accessible beach mat, which is also useful for parents pushing strollers out onto the sand. Visitors traveling with kids should be sure to check out the four-story-tall inflatable water slide on the beach at 10400 Gulf Boulevard and the pirate cruise and activities at John’s Pass Village.
Sip drinks from Sloppy Joe’s or Caddy’s on Sunset Beach and grab some dressed-up burgers, grouper nuggets, and more from BRGR Kitchen + Bar while enjoying the view of the Treasure Island Beach Resort pool and the Gulf of Mexico in the distance. If you’re in the mood to shop, browse the local stores, including the iconic Florida Shell Shop and Suncoast Surf Shop.
