Description
NASCAR was born from a meeting in a Daytona Beach hotel, and the first sanctioned NASCAR race took place nearby. More than 50 years later, Florida keeps its hold on racing, hosting events including the Daytona 500, 12 Hours of Sebring and the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Racing fans can also make pit stops at Ocala's Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing and Richard Petty Driving Experience locations in Miami, Orlando and Daytona Beach.
