Art of the Chopper is a special collection of mechanical sculptures that balance flamboyance and minimalism presented at the Appleton Museum of Art of Central Florida Community College in Ocala.
As the first collection of custom motorcycles created explicitly as works of contemporary art, Art of the Chopper showcases motorcycles as both sculptural art and artifacts of American culture. Each chopper is accompanied by a series of photographs and information on the bike's artist/builder.
The event commemorates the March 1865 Union Army raid on plantations east of Oala and the resulting skirmish with local Confederate forces near the Ocklawaha River.

Southeastern Youth Fair & Florida High School Rodeo
The Southeastern Youth Fair is the oldest all youth fair in the country. The competitors for the High School Redeo come from all over Florida as well as South Georgie and Alabama for this 2 day event. This is one of the largest high school rodeos in the state.
The Live Oak Int'l. is one of the premier Combined Driving Events is North America. Many spectators have been introduced to the sport of driving and have gained an appreciation and desire to become involved in the sport. Spectators bring their lawn chairs.
The Ocala Storytelling Festival brings national and regional talent to the community. There is a great following for storytelling and Ocala has been named one of the best places to attend a story festival by USA Today.
