Florida's large size, plentiful waterways and visitor appeal make it a leading hub for the aviation and space industry. Florida's main international gateways of Tampa, Miami and Orlando are accompanied by major airports in Fort Lauderdale, Sarasota, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Pensacola, among others. From its earliest days, Florida has been a hub for airline and aircraft training, both civilian and military. Navy installations in Pensacola and Jacksonville are complemented by the Patrick and Eglin Air Force Bases.
