Gourmet Lunch at Florida Int'l University's School of Hospitality Restaurant
April 17, 2008
The next time you want to break for a unique gourmet lunch during your shopping expedition, book yourself a table at Florida International University's School of Hospitality Restaurant in North Miami, where the culinary students design the menu, cook the food, act as host and servers and design the dining room.

For just $15, you’ll be served a lunch that includes salad, warm bread, your choice of two entrees,  iced tea, glass of wine, dessert and tea or coffee. A sample menu might include: deconstructed Caesar salad in a garlic tuille; choice of duck confit with dirty rice and orange gastrique or baked red snapper with beurre blanc and for dessert peach and blueberry napoleon.

It’s a fantastic way to meet the next generation of young and dynamic chefs before they go on to open their own restaurants. Florida International University is one of the nation’s leading business schools, providing a focus on hospitality. FIU School of Hospitality graduates go on to work in all aspects of the hospitality industry, both domestically and internationally, as chefs, sommeliers, wine buyers, marketing professionals, hotel owners and managers, wine makers/beer brewers, etc.

FIU culinary students also work side by side, behind the scenes, with some of the nation’s top chefs at the annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival each February - the nation’s largest food & wine event. Celebrity chefs at past events have included Jamie Oliver, Giada de Laurentis, Rachael Ray, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay and Anthony Bourdain.

Make your reservations soon in order to sample the work of tomorrow’s top chefs.

For reservations, call 305-919-4500.

Culinary colleges help aspiring chefs to learn cooking and culinary arts. Students learn through interactive sessions, demonstration classes, and hands-on cooking classes. Many colleges also provide students with job placements also. http://www.culinaryschoolsprograms.com/
