A few weeks ago, I blogged about the Rails to Trails of the Withlacoochee Annual Bike Ride, and I thought I'd share with you some video clips from the event. Bikes and riders of all styles came out to take part on the ride -- from road bikers, mountain bikers, comfort bike riders, recumbants, beach cruisers, trikke riders -- you name it. If it had wheels, and was non-motorized, it was probably there.
The video was taken at the North Apopka Trailhead in downtown Inverness, behind the courthouse and next to Liberty Park. On a side note, Inverness (Citrus County) is rapidly becoming a major biking destination, and the City of Inverness has developed a Bicycle Master Plan, with riders having easy access to the downtown areas and bike lanes along the major roads as well. Couple this with being situated on roughly the halfway point of the 46-mile paved Withlacoochee State Trail, and well, you've got a lot of options for biking.
Here's the video. Come on out to Inverness and ride the Withlacoochee State Trail!
