Ride the Withlacoochee State Trail on October 4
September 21, 2009

Can you feel it? The mornings are a little less humid, with a touch of chill in the air, and folks are excited because fall is right around the corner! Plenty of outdoor events are always planned in October, as you can probably tell from the last several blog posts.

The 15th Annual Rails to Trails Bike Ride on the Withlacoochee State Trail will be taking place on Sunday, Oct. 4. The ride will start between 7 and 9 a.m. at the North Apopka Avenue trail crossing in Inverness. In 2008, the ride event attracted 1,360 cycling enthusiasts who pedaled anywhere from 14 to 100 miles! The fee for the event is $25 per rider, with proceeds going to help maintain the trail.

Since I live near the Withlacoochee State Trail, you know I'll be there! It's always a great event with lots of good people. For more information, please visit http://www.railstotrailsonline.com.
