That's right, folks. Pack up those coolers, load up your gear and get outside! July is National Parks and Recreation Month, and Florida has endless opportunities for you to celebrate the occasion. There are tons of events going on in parks all over the state - kayak and canoe tours, guided hikes, outdoor arts and crafts - just to name a few.
Oh yes, it gets even better! On Sunday, July 13, admission to all Florida State Parks is absolutely free! You can spend the day at the beach, paddle down one of Florida's beautiful waterways, or enjoy a family picnic and take a dip in a crystal-clear freshwater spring.
I know what you are wondering: What is Kevin Mims going to do to celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month? Well, with so many opportunities to take advantage of, it's a really tough choice. I'm planning a little overnight hike and camp, so check back for a trip report.
