Family Fun at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
October 30, 2009

As my fellow Insider Terry Tomalin will tell you, it's time for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show! You can read all about it in Terry's blog but what I wanted to bring to your attention was the Kids' Fishing Clinics that they will be having on Sat., Oct. 31 and Sun., Nov. 1, 2009. They will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. each day, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. on the first floor of the Convention Center. AND, get this - kids will get a FREE ROD AND REEL when they complete their clinic (while supplies last)!

And, moms are invited to come learn to fish too! (Not just moms, but all ladies!) They are having a Ladies' Fishing Clinic at 1:30 p.m. this weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2009).

The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is a super family-friendly event. In addition to being able to hop on water taxis for a fun little ride, there are TONS of vendors here, mostly inside, selling all kinds of great stuff like nautical jewelry, clothing, water sports gear, sunglasses and lots lots more (my favorite is the jewelry)! And since this weekend is suppose to be abnormally hot in South Florida, this is a wonderful place to come and escape the heat, get in the air conditioning, get some exercise (from walking around!) and have a good time, too.

There's even a large area to have lunch at so come for the day and see how much fun a boat show can be!

Don't forget to pick up a 50th anniversary commemorative hat while you're there - this is the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show's 50th year!!
