This just in ... two Florida beaches make Dr. Beach's Top 10 List!
Coastal expert Stephen P. Leatherman, also known as "Dr. Beach," director of Florida International University's Laboratory for Coastal Research, has released his annual list of the best beaches in the country, and Florida snagged two of the top 10 spots!
Siesta Beach in Sarasota was selected as the No. 2 beach, and Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne came in at No. 8. Last year's No. 1 beach, Caladesi Island State Park beach in the Tampa Bay area, could not be on the list again as a former winner (read my blog post about it here).
