Florida Keys Beaches - Sombrero Beach
May 07, 2009

Sombrero Beach is definitely one of the top beaches in the Florida Keys. This crescent-shaped white-sand beach is located near the end of Sombrero Beach Road (mile marker 50) in Marathon, and is several miles off the highway, so traffic noise is not a factor on this quiet beach. A safe swim area is marked. Sombrero Beach offers a great beach experience and is one of my favorites.

Beach Features: Tall coconut palms, covered picnic tables, volleyball net, small fishing pier and kayak launch, clean restrooms, covered pavilion, playground equipment for kids, free parking.

Activities: Sunning, swimming, fishing, kayaking, beachcombing, picnicking, snorkeling.

Pets: Allowed on beach and in water. Must be on a leash. Cleanup of pet waste is mandatory.

Lifeguards: None. Use good judgement and keep an eye on your children.
