'Tis the Season to Shop... at a Museum Store
December 05, 2007

Especially when there's a sale on! And from December 7-10, there's a one-of-a-kind Mable Ringling Attic Sale at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.

Held at the Ca d'Zan Mansion Gift Shop, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, the sale offers low prices on popular art books, prints, apparel, jewelry and Christmas ornaments. Best of all, you don't need to purchase museum admission in order to attend the sale.

But if you would like to give back, here's something you can do: Buy an extra toy and donate it tomorrow night, December 6, to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program (covering Sarasota and Manatee counties) during the museum's Holiday Splendor night. One toy per guest is the admission price for an evening of touring the grounds and buildings, enjoying the holiday decorations and listening to musical performances in the Courtyard. The gift shop will be open should you wish to purchase toys then, along with items for your own kids and home; otherwise, admission is $10 per person.
