Mexico's booming film industry has produced some of my favorites including the magical "Like Water for Chocolate", "Y Tu Mama Tambien," and "Amores Perros." Starting in the early 1900's, the nation has produced some amazingly captivating work. The soundtrack of these films will be celebrated today in Miami.
On Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m., CIFO will present "Songs of the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema." Led by Maetro Raffaele Cardone, soprano singer Veronica Murua and Virginia Covarrubias on piano will perform songs by cinematic greats like Angela Peralta, Jorge del Moral, Augustin Lara and more.
A donation of $20 is suggested per guests. Call 305-455-3333 for tickets and more information.
