Exhibition runs from July 2 - September 7, 2008 Many Pop artists' lives were intimately entwined with photography. In the 1960s, Andy Warhol (1928-1987), Tom Wesselmann (1931- 2004), Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997), James Rosenquist (1933- ) and Robert Indiana (1928- ) gained international attention as key leaders of the Pop art movement, which championed the use of popular culture and mass-produced objects as artistic subject matter. This exhibition presents more than 60 images of these American artists, photographed at the height of their careers by two photographers whose lives crossed paths with many of the greatest artists of their day.

On exhibition July 2 - September 7, 2008 Today, our view of what constitutes an artwork is much different from what we understood visual art to be at any other time in history. Increasingly, artists are moving beyond the predictable. Temporary installations, conceptual works, computer-generated images, and video often determine the non-traditional form and content of much contemporary artwork today. The Museum is committed to showing the best contemporary as well as modernist 20th and 21st century art. Part of that commitment is reflected in the Museum's strong advocacy for the Florida artist. As the state's oldest annual juried competition, over the years, the Museum's All Florida has introduced the work of thousands of Florida artists working in all media - emerging, under recognized, and established younger and mid-career artists. The 57th All Florida Juried Exhibition reinforces the Museum's commitment to Florida artists, provides professional exhibition opportunities for emerging artists, and reveals a provocative glimpse - through Florida artists' eyes - of the state-of-the-art today. This year's co-jurors are Jan van der Marck, former Chief Curator at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Jef Bourgeau, Director of the Museum of New Art, Detroit, Michigan, who will review submissions, selecting the exhibition and awards.

Exhibition runs from July 2, 2008 through June 30, 2009 Benn Mitchell's return exhibition showcases his work as a forerunner in realistic photography. Mitchell (born in New York City 1926-) documented life in New York City during the 1930's through the 1980's. At 16, he sold his first photographs to Life magazine. At 17 he became a portrait photographer in Hollywood for Warner Brothers' studios, capturing classic images of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, among others. In 1948 Mitchell started his own commercial studio, beginning a career that has lasted over five decades. The exhibition presents 16 color images shot throughout the streets of New York City between 1947 and 1980. These images capture Benn Mitchell's acute observations and his award-winning eye for both the artistic and the incidental.
