Frank Galvez's original production of The American Nutcracker ushers in the season with an extravagant performance full of wonder and surprises set to the original music score by Tchaikovsky and based on the book by E.T.A Hoffmann. Created in 1994 in Fort Lauderdale Florida, and six years since it was first staged on Florida's Space Coast for the Galmont Ballet in 2004. Galvez added a unique twist to the story, aiming to create a truly American Nutcracker, set in the North East of the United States of America in the 19th century. Galvez’s production portraits a beautiful old-fashioned Victorian Christmas tree, all decorated in red, white, and blue, thrilling battle scene, exquisite costumes, impressive special effects, illusions, and magical tricks.
