What is an oyster spat? Well, it's a baby oyster! The oyster will be honored on October 10th, 11th & 12th. This is a family festival which will highlight Franklin County's proud seafood industry & the beautiful beaches of St. George Island. Over 90% of all oysters consumed in Florida come from our very our Apalachicola Bay. Activities include a 5K race, a parade, a family treasure hunt, a food court, a fishing tournament & art walk. Most of the kids' and family activities are free, but minimal fees will be charged for some of the adult races & concerts. Concerts will be held throughout the weekend at various locations. Proceeds from the Spat Festival help support the St. George Island Lighthouse and area non-profits. Read Less
