So couples, grandparents traveling with the grandkids, and families big and small have much to choose from when plotting their ideal spring getaway. Join them in rediscovering Daytona Beach, and create your own spring break tradition along the way.

Daytona for Families of All Kinds
For single parents or any parents on a budget, there's no better way to reward a great report card or a job well done than a spring break trip. At Studio 1 Motel on Daytona Beach, $169 buys you three nights of recently renovated, roomy accommodations just steps from what has been dubbed "the world's most famous beach." (Rates based on double occupancy.) Kids can spend hours frolicking in the sand and playing in the ocean – activities that cost nothing but yield a full day of fun. With outdoor gas grills, picnic tables and full kitchens equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, you won't have to spend a fortune eating out. (If you do decide to eat out, you can choose from more than 400 area restaurants.)
If you're planning a reunion or larger family gathering, consider staying at Tropical Manor, a brightly colored, award-winning oceanfront motel on Daytona Beach Shores. Family owned for half a century, this resort offers families two- and three-bedroom oceanview and oceanfront units, including living room, bedrooms, full kitchens and more. One spacious three-bedroom oceanfront unit comfortably sleeps up to 11 people. Around the property, you'll find lush landscaping that's true to the resort's name.
Larger groups can spread out for a beachside picnic at Lighthouse Point Park, voted among America's Top 10 Beaches by coastal expert Dr. Beach. Adventurous or active family members won't be able to resist setting off for an afternoon of surfing, parasailing or kayaking. (For the not-so-adventurous, a leisurely riverboat cruise, a live theater production at the state-of-the-art News Journal Center or a visit to the Halifax Historical Museum might be the right speed.)
For a father-son getaway, think high-speed and head for some male bonding at NASCAR's Daytona 500 Experience. Here you can soak up thrills at the Richard Petty Driving Experience or test your pit crew skills at the Chevy 16-Second Pit Stop Challenge. You might even meet a real NASCAR driver. Nearby, you can zip down a track at 75 mph in a nitro-powered dragster while enjoying an afternoon at Speed Park Motorsports.
Grandparents can enjoy precious, carefree time with their grandkids at the Ocean Walk Shoppes, the nostalgic Daytona Beach Pier or any spot along the 23-mile stretch of beach. A children's wing is scheduled to open in the area's acclaimed Museum of Arts & Sciences in fall 2008.
Couples and honeymooners will relish the evenings. Soak up the beach town ambiance as you dine on the waterfront, then hit the beach for a romantic evening stroll.
With world-famous shores and a wide range of attractions involving everything from high art to fast cars, the Daytona Beach area is bursting with exciting activities year-round. Spring break or not, it's a memorable getaway for all families, and for all seasons.
