Crystal River

Central Florida’s Crystal River is one of the only places where you can swim with manatees. The springs flow at a constant 72 degrees, making the waters attractive to the sea cow in the winter.

Description
The river home of manatees, as well as a city, both in Citrus County. The Crystal River is fed by springs that bubble at a constant 72 degrees. When Gulf of Mexico waters drop below 72, manatees automatically begin looking for warmer spots, hence their winter presence in the Crystal River.
